Re: The Taurus PT-92AF Is Not Obscure, But I Sure Desired It Anyway
M-JBT, Thanks for the history lesson. I still own my first ever pistol which was a PT-99, think I purchased in '90 or '91, but I still own it. My current PT-99 is the replacement for the first which was sent back to Taurus for repair, which they subsequently lost and replaced with a decocker model. ...

Re: .50 beowulf vs. .458 socom
Out of the 2 of those I would say the .458 Socom would be around in the future. But I am going to say the 450 Bushmaster will be around after both of those have gone bye bye. I think the 450BM is just the better allround cartridge. Factory ammo is available for it and is relatively cheap, especially...

Re: Who has tried .350 legend?
While I don't own one, I have shot one, friend got one for hunting in straight wall cartridge states. Very accurate, and hits harder than a .223/5.56 at hunting ranges. Recoil is not bad, more than .223 but way less than .308. Factory ammo is available for it at Bass Pro shop, decent selection, 145g...

Re: Yellow box Norico 556 ammo
I would be careful with that stuff. Back in early 90's I used to shoot that in my Mini-14. Yellow box with the non corrosive primer label. It was so cheap why I used it. Short version is it corroded my barrel to the extent that at 25yds I was lucky to put rounds on target. Rifle got sent back to Rug...

Re: Anybody know where I can find a Savage barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor?
Rug, Best place would be Gunbroker for a used take off Savage barrel, but usually it is someone getting rid of a .308 barrel to try 6.5Creed like you. Other option would be Northland Shooting Supply for a Criterion Savage pre-fit. You can get different contours(ie hunting profile). MidwayUSA.com has...

Re: remington 700 in 223?
DB, What I meant for support was aftermarket addons. For the R700 action, you can get triggers, stocks, detachable mag setups, pre fit barrels, scope rails, and on and on. R788, the aftermarket selection not on the same level. Even for your Tikka there is not the same level of aftermarket upgrades a...

Re: Remembering Glockpacker
Flshooter,
Glockpacker's ashes were scattered on the High Power range at PMRPC between the 500 and 600yd lines. This was back in 2011, there was a pic of Eric on this site prior to the last big crash, showing him with a 600yd clean.

Re: remington 700 in 223?
I would go with #1 as long as the barrel is not a hunting contour(skinny), and the twist is 9 or faster. Free float stock a plus. #3 would be next for same reason. #1 & #3 then #2 in that order. Only because there is a ton of aftermarket support for the 700 action. 788 not so much. I have shot f...
