Concealed Carry training in the Boca area?

Post by Revenant »

My youngest daughter resides in Boca Raton and plans to carry concealed. She's looking for the good training that she knows that she needs, not just bs "classes" by self-styled but under qualified trainers. Can anyone recommend a good and reliable training course/classes within the Boca Raton area?

I think the only gun shop in Boca is Gunshine Arms on Dixie Hwy https://gunshinearms.com/ and they do the usual non-hands on training for a carry license. They may have other options but I haven't been in there in a while. It's a good gun shop however and Nick (the owner/operator/all-around good guy) is willing to talk guns with you for hours.
Not too far away (and is where I usually shoot) is Gun World of South Florida https://gunworldofsouthflorida.com/ which is an actual range/gun store with lots of training options. It is clean & friendly & your daughter might appreciate that it's owned by a woman. I think some of the trainers are women as well.
There is Delray Shooting Center in Delray Bch. https://delray-shooting-center.business.site/ but I quit going there years ago because of the attitudes of the owner & staff so I don't really know what they offer for training. I would be wary of training there unless it was outsourced and just used their facilities.

There may be others I'm not aware of so this may not be a complete list. Hope it helps.

I know someone who used Gun World a few years ago (pre-Covid). She was very happy. So that's my limited, and somewhat stale, endorsement.

Bmup and tector, thanks so much for your kind and considered replies. I'll pass them on, "as is". Really appreciate it.
