"Everytown" is nothing but a shell organization for former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg. Zero involved membership, and staff is paid by Bloomberg and a few other wealthy lefties.

In an email blast from Marion Hammer, Florida's current NRA lobbyist and former NRA President. The National Rifle Association is blasting incoming Florida Republican Senate President Bill Galvano for accepting a $200,000 donation to his Innovate Florida political committee from Everytown for Gun Safety. A nonprofit gun control group funded by former Republican NYC Mayor, Michael Bloomberg. They announced earlier this week that they're spending millions on the 2018 election and endorsed Democratic candidates in Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and New Mexico.

A search of the Florida Department of State's Campaign Finance Database shows the donation.

Sen. Galvano authored and voted for SB 7026, the bill that banned bump-stock sales, raised the minimum age to 21 for a Floridian to be able to buy a firearm, and created a three-day waiting period to buy any firearm. This bill was authored by Galvano at the behest of Florida's Republican Governor, Rick Scott.

Worse, is that prior to this. The NRA gave an "A" rating to Sen. Galvano when he answered their questioner and at no point during the time period when SB 7026 was in debate did the NRA strip him of his rating or publicly denounce him.

But Sen. Galvano isn't the only Florida Republican to receive funds from the group. Sen. Anitere Flores received $35,000 from Everytown in two payments in June and August to her Floridians for Strong Leadershippolitical committee. Flores sided with Democrats on SB 7026 with early amendment votes to eliminate a plan to arm teachers and to ban assault weapons and was one of the key figures in blocking Campus Carry and Open Carry in 2017. Also according to the News Services of Florida, Sen. Galvano's committee sent $75,000 to Friends of Dana Young, a committee backing Sen. Dana Young, A Republican of the Tampa area, in her closely watched re-election battle in Hillsborough County's Senate District 18.

In the end, it appears that the Florida Republican Party Establishment is fine with selling out Floridians' civil liberties for some cash to stay in office.

In FL, the Republicans that passed anti gun laws get a bump because they voted against calling a special session for going after SYG.

ALERT! Florida Democrats Did an Awesome Election Favor for Republicans

DATE: August 18, 2018
TO: USF &NRA Member and Friends
FROM: Marion P. Hammer
USF Executive Director
NRA Past President

The anti-Second Amendment, Democrat politicians who demanded that the Legislature vote on calling a Special Session to repeal Florida's Stand Your Ground self-defense law either unwittingly or intentionally provided a great service to Republican incumbent Legislators.

Republican incumbents who previously had NRA ratings of A or A+ and voted in favor of SB-7026, the so-called "school safety" bill that contained gun control provisions, had their ratings dropped to a "C."

The vote on the Special Session was essentially a vote on the repeal of the Castle Doctrine/Stand Your Ground law.

Therefore, Republican incumbents who voted against calling a Special Session are eligible for a grade increase up to a "B-."

As voters are heading to the polls in the Primary, they can be confident in the knowledge that they know exactly where their elected officials stand on the important constitutional right of self-defense. Primary grades were changed immediately.

When the grades have been posted for the General Election, incumbents will have been re-graded to reflect the vote on the call for a Special Session.

Democrats gave an incredible gift to Republicans by providing the opportunity for a self-defense vote right before the election.

Yeah, Marion Hammer is wiping their gun grabbing record clean.

Duh right back at you. All Everytown has is money. If their trying to buy Galvano bothers you, you need to work on replacing him or forcing him to support some pro-gun rights initiatives. Teach him that WE have the votes and Everytown and the other gun phobics do not.

BTW the Parkland pukes had a big concert deal with local bands in Tampa last week. In spite of the freebies the paper said that a "couple off hundred" attended. I couldn't count more than 35 in the widest shot and all the rest were closeups of a few activists and their signs, a good indication of a sparse crowd. As I said, WE have the votes.

You are saying this in a state that voted for Obama, twice?

Your senile arrogance is more and more evident each time you post.

We are in a desperate fight. Your posts to the contrary are bizarre, if not in bad faith completely.

Obama was running against McCain and Romney - I'd post the George Santayana quote about not remembering history but apparently you cant even remember things from 6 and 10 years ago.
