Very true. For many folks, me included, as a younger person I had to sell a gun to buy a gun - cash was hard to come by.

Was reblued in approx 1963 as it had some rust on it. He left Cuba in late 1960 about 6 months after we did on a self built sailboat and was able to smuggle out his 4 firearms. The other firearms (rifle, shotgun, another handgun) all survived with no problems, but this one started rusting. Still shoots great though!
Old post but that is a super cool story about the revolver. Hang onto that one!
The rifle is a pre-war model 70. None of the 4 firearms are going anywhere :D

I just came on this post and figured since nothing is going on I would join in.

My first wheel gun was a 6 inch Colt Diamond Back (38 Special). Since I found I loved that thing so much I followed it with a purchase about 2 months later of a 4 inch Colt Python. I had to get the Python because the Diamond Back was "only" in 38 and I just had to have "more". Both of those were in 1983. Held on to both of them until the mid 90s and stupidly sold them both...To think what I would have if I held on to them....Sighhhhhhhh
