Are LEO required to respond to an emergency while off duty?

If it doesn't fit in any of the other forums, post it here!

Yep I carried my bunker gear and full medical/trauma pack in my vehicle. But we are not obligated to stop. But if we do we are only required to operate within our scope of duty. In other words I'm not required to die for you or put myself in undo danger.

That said I'd do whatever I had to do to save a life. Any life no matter who it is or my political beliefs. That how we roll.
