Screw that, I was taking 5 cold showers a day and still dripping sweat. I go out to the mailbox and I feel like a jogged around the block.

Here in Iowa, I've been walking the dog at midnight for 2 miles in 20 degree weather. I wear a hoodie and a jacket and sweats, when I get home I need to stand in the driveway for 10 minutes to cool off before going in the house.

I actually get way more exercise in the cold weather. In Florida, the heat would break me down and sap my strength until I just couldn't do strenuous activity past a certain point. When I got to Iowa I noticed that my muscles were getting tired for the first time, that is because I could take my jacket off and cool off and keep working without ever getting overheated. I got a lot more done.

I walk places all the time now because I can.

And when it get's really, really cold, I can work out in the garage and build up a sweat and come inside. Or I can just turn on the fireplace, makes things really comfortable when it's -20 outside.

Aesop had a fable about this involving grapes.

Whatever, man.

Screw that,
You do you. I moved to Florida because of the hot humid weather. I had enough cold the 35 years I lived in NJ.

I've been in hot and I've been in cold.
I'll take hot every time.

Keep in mind also, that in the absence of artificial climate control, cold is life threatening. In the heat, on can stop or slow down exertion, using one's head to avoid heat stroke. In the cold, nothing but piling on clothing. Short term, fine. Long term, another matter.
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag that bears a Single Star.
