I have both the 42 and 43. I usually carry my Glock 26 but when I need something lighter or thinner is when I go for one of them. The 42 is amazingly light, perfect for when you absolutely positively need to be concealed.

The 42 is a pretty soft shooter while the 43 can be a little snappy but both shoot nicely for such small guns. Sometimes too small is a bad thing because it increases the recoil but I think Glock got it just right for both of them.

I got the Pearce grip extensions for both (one of the factory 43 magazines comes with a pinky extension as well) and it makes a big difference in how they handle while not decreasing concealability at all.

I have one, and it is a joy to carry. You almost forget it is there. My one complaint is that when I shoot it, for some reason, it really hurts my trigger finger. After about the third shot, I am anticipating the pain. Sometimes I put a band-aid around my finger and that helps some. Surely there is something that can be done to help, but i haven't figured it out yet.

Likely the trigger safety is still protruding and bit sharp, you could lightly sand it down a little to help ease that issue. The grooves in the trigger itself can be a bit sharp too which also can be dulled. Then there is after market alternatives.

Realize this is an old subject on here which I read initially and it definitely influenced the purchase of a Glock model 42, I own a model 30 gen 2 and my opinion is it is the finest shooting handgun out if the box I've ever seen, thats my personal opinion mind you I'm sure many of you will dispute that statement and I respect that. Getting back to the model 42 very impressive small EDC or backup semi auto handgun, mine is about four weeks old and have put approximately 300 different weight ammo through it with zero problems, most impressive is how soft it shoots, very very recoil for a .380, also have a Bersa Thunder combat in .380 and it is just the opposite very distinctive barrel flash and recoil. I'm very pleased with the 42 in .380. ( miniature 9mm ) now my EDC .. With Glocks you either love em or hate em ...any further comments re upgrades and accessories would be appreciated ..

Peace and tranquility

The G42 is a bit bigger than guns like the LCP. Its borderline a pocket gun.
I thought its main virtue would be for the recoil sensitive folks. It is good for that but S&W's new m&P .380 EZ may be an even better choice for those folks.

As for the G43, I think the Shield or an LC9s are better choices for less coin.
