Question on NFA

Post by svtjesse » Wed Sep 14, 2005 10:04 pm

Alright, to make a long story short, I am looking at purchasing a NFA weapon from a local class III dealer and I am able to purchase hand guns and soforth just fine. Problem is, when I was younger I had a couple of friends that got me in trouble once, anyhow I ended up going thru some kind of program where they withold punishment inlou of comunity service time, now is that anything that is going to keep me from pass the ATF background check??

Oh and it was not any violent crime, was simple theft on there part and I was just charged with possesion/abading i think, I will have to dig out paperwork.

Please if anyone has in insight, just hate to have to wait to find out they turn it down, may just have to end up doing that.

The simple answer is it's the same NCIC check done on you for a handgun as it is for a machinegun, silencer, etc. If you stuff has been cleared up and you can legally own a handgun then you can legally own the other stuff.

We have (to my knowledge) never had someone who could purchase a handgun get a decline on a class 3 transaction........never.

Feel free to call with any questions.
