Any retired Firefighter/Paramedics here
I still get goosebumps when I hear sirens or drive past MVA's
Sometimes I wrestle with my demons, sometimes we just snuggle.

OK, I'll sign in.
Retired Fire Lieut, Franklin Park IL 1969 to 1989.
Small Dept, just outside Chicago, right by O'Hare Field.
This is my first time on this section, been busy taking wife to Moffitt the past 1 1/2 years, she is doing fine now, so have some time to spend here again, but thinking it is time to clean out the safe, some date to 1952, and some are older than that.

It's a beautiful day, watch some idiot come along to mess it up.

Hey,
Retired/Disabled Fire Lt. from St. Charles IL Local 3322. Moved to area last fall, would like to keep up with some retirees in area. Hit range once in while, when convenient.

Re: Any retired Firefighter/Paramedics here
I know this is an old post. I am a retired FireFighter/Paramedic I miss it so bad sometimes it hurts. I miss working with the guys, the rush of the alarm and bunkering out. I enjoyed fighting fire more than medical. If you guys are like me some of the stuff you've seen you'll never forget. We use to make jokes about it to get through it. I miss the rush of the sirens and packing out, hell I miss it all. My life is so boring now it sucks. There's a gator in my canal I'm thinking of jumping on and taking it out with my Army Ranger Training ![He He [smilie=011.gif]](./images/smilies/011.gif)

Retired Capt., Kenosha Fire Dept... 1969-1999, 30 years to the day.. I still miss it, still dream dreams of doing it..but glad I got out when the time was right. I fully realize that I was getting to the point that I only had my experience to benefit my crew, had issues with SCBA's, I wasn't the 'steed' that I was in the mid-years... so I bailed out, got a decent pension, and a lot of memories. I remember some of the old codgers that had to be pushed out the door, and the hurt in their eyes..they couldn't do it well any more, and we covered for them for a while... I didn't want to be one of them.. so I 'hung up the helmet' 2 months after I was eligible... ardeekay..

I'm a retired NREMT-A. I was also a P.I.T. for 2 years. Was a volunteer at two NJ local First Aid squads in the mid 90's.
I'm sure it's a lot different now.

Its the guy who started this thread. Its a long story better left in the past for legal reasons. Basically he better not cross paths with some of the veteran members of this board.FfNJGTFO wrote:So who is this guy?
