The stuff of heavy hearts.
He was everyone's hero.
I had the privilege of actually meeting him.
It was in line at the cafeteria at either the 1966 or 1967 Daytona 24 hour race.
It was one of those as they were the only time I was there.
It wasn't that I actually met him in the usual sense.
He stepped on my foot and immediately apologized of course.
What else would be expected from Dan Gurney.
Quite a shock to look up and see my (and 'most everyone else's) hero looking down at me.
He will be missed now and forever.
