What video were you watching? I didn't see anything wrong with his lines, just bliping the edge of the curbs, max acceleration out of the corners, looked good to me.

Way inside on most of his turn ins... not running the outside/in apex. He's going to run up behind left/rear on somebody running the correct line, brake at turn in, and get wrecked. He does it on quite a few of his turns.

He's passing miatas and civics on the straights... woopty doo. If he was in a equally dismal 125hp car he wouldn't have passed anyone because his entry angles and subsequent exit speeds are crap.

It's hard to see if the early turn ins are caused by the driver or due to an understeer (push in stock car parlance).
Just judging from the excessive steering wheel action, it could be a handling problem.
It bounces a lot, too, maybe too stiff a suspension and not enough from the anti-roll bars for the corners.
There's a lot of skill and some magic to make a car handle the best it can.
Not many people understand how to do it.

Looks good to me, considering driving one of those kit Cobra's is like banging a fat girl on a folding cot.

Now there's a real driver.
The BMW is set up perfectly and the driver is first rate.
A beautiful thing to watch.
Thanks Mike for the video.

And it's electric.
Can't call it a 427.

Straight cut gears in tranny, noisy but gives a smaller "per equal strength" package by eliminating the thrust bearing required in a helical tranny.

Yessir,
Racing gearboxes use straight cut gears.
They require more skill to drive, but are stronger.
And expensive.
They are also much easier to change gearing.
Minutes instead of all day.
The position of the microphone might have made it sound noisier than normal.
