I picked up a Mk I Ruger that has a threaded barrel - no front sight. I've never seen one like it, and I'm wondering if it was customized for some reason. Has anyone seen one like this?

I don't think Ruger ever did that, so it had to be modified by someone...

I checked with Ruger. The pistol was manufactured in '73 and has a tapered barrel. There were no Mark I's ever threaded, they only did that with some Mark II's, so it was modified. The threads are 3/4 inch, as opposed to less than 1/2 inch for a typical supressor.
