iron sights for Ruger 10/22 takedown

Post by birdman » Sat Dec 28, 2013 9:06 pm

Got a Ruger 10/22 takedown for Christmas. Took it out to the range yesterday & got it sighted in, sort of.

I put the rail for the scope mount on the butt end of the 2 piece rifle & find I can barely see the rear sight, mounted on the barrel piece of the rifle. Whereas I cannot see much of the rear sight I find the gun shoots about 4" high at 25 yds (OBTW with the scope mounted on the rail the gun shoots very nice.)

What I'm looking for are replacement iron sights such that I can see both the rear and front sights without having to remove the scope rail. I'd prefer to simply use the existing dovetail cuts to mount them. Having a light pipe in the front sight would be a plus. A flip-down aperture rear sight would also be a plus. Anyone know of a set that works? I can't be the first 10/22 takedown owner to want this setup, so I know they have to be out there somewhere...

Thanks,

Allan
