s/w mp 22 deadly but jams

Post by dieselbeef » Mon Nov 18, 2013 1:01 pm

only had the one mag out with us but 3 dif kinds of ammo...

things right on at 75 rds or so..shoot out a qtr when it shoots

fails to eject
tries to feed the next one in w/o ejecting the last one.

stovepipes i think ...catches the rd when its ejecting it and pinches it w/the bolt.

had some 40 gr fmj..
40 gr soft lead
40 gr hollows
some pmc and some federal

same thing which ever one we shot...

mag problem?? seems to feed ok..
it was clean and very well oiled

man it is on tho..the rds downrange couldve easily fit in a qtr...even Gage was killin it covering a paper plate..not bad for 7 yrs old

too bad pics are such a pita to post or id throw some up of my little sniper

gary
im the other gary...

be careful with too much oil, check for lead build up in the chamber area, it can cause the problems you described
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

we put about 500 rds thur it give or take some....

did it from the beginning to the end...

wasnt super wet when we started but i oiled it up bout halfway thru and it didnt help any.

the feed ramp seems very clean altho not well polished or very worn..not alot of tracking marking from feeding on the ramp. i cleeaned the chamber and the ramp/bolt area real good afterwards but it wasnt dirty..

could it have been the mag..i didnt try a dif one but i got 5 so i could

Sounds like the recoil spring may be too heavy.
Is it failing to extract, or failing to eject?
How often does it jam?
Make sure the mag is not dragging on the bolt, or grabbing the shells too firmly. See if you can slide the cartridges foward easily.

yeah i havent tried the other mags but i dont remember that problem last time we shot it.

it jams 5 out of 25 rds..at least

sometimes it fails to eject and other times it catches the shell sideways in the ejection port with the bolt. the fails to eject just leave the spent rd in the chamber and jam the next one trying to feed.

it could be the mag. im on vaca next week so im gonna play around with it. its a s/w mag..poly tho...ive got 6 of em so ill load em all with the same ammo and see what happens

in the meantime i put a red dot on my 336 30 30 and it wont hit a refridgerator at 20 yds..wtf....
