1956 Colt Python 6inch Blued original

Post by cal45 » Sat May 16, 2015 11:09 pm

Are there any Colt collectors here in Central FL that can appraise my 1956 6" blued Python (sn# 1407)?
2nd year production model. No box or papers.

May be interested in selling and I know the values are all over the place. I would rate the condition at a conservative +90%. That action and lock up is tight - no play in the cylinder. Only mark on the original blue finish is a fine holster wear line on the right side of the barrel and on a small wear spot on the left side of the muzzle. Original stocks in excellent condition.

If you go to the Inverness gun show on June 6-7, there will be a guy named Buddy, there with about 20 of them he also has a collection of over a hundred or more.

His offer will be his buy price from you, but if you look at the ones he has for sale, had asking price, and make your own conclusion
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

They are beautiful, are they not? I have to remember to ask a friend if I can fondle his Colt Python, next time I go over to visit. He carried it in a custom made shoulder holster during his tour in Vietnam.

Sold my 4 inch in about the same condition for $2300 last December. They may have gone up more by now.
