Not to sound silly, but did someone engage the internal lock?

Wouldn't that be something.
I have a Taurus Millennium. Saw the lock thing, but have no key. Hope it can't lock by accident.

There's a storm coming.

I think you win!.....[ If it can happen to the S&W's it can happen to taurus! ] Or it broke internally and locked itself somehow.... i must say for all that people bag on Taurus, they do have good customer service, and you are close enough to drop it off yourself. Just give them a call. http://www.taurususa.com/contact.cfm I had a nickel M605 in .357 about 10yrs ago, that kept blowing out the crane-retention screw, after i got tired of picking it up off the floor of the range i finally called, and they sent me a UPS call tag. When i got it back [ free of charge ] it never happened again.

The most likely cause is a broken transfer bar:

It is a very common problem on Taurus revolvers. If that is the case, then yes you need to send back to Taurus for repair.

Smith=yes, Taurus=no (at least not that I have ever seen or heard of)
