Gots me a new toy!

Post by armedinpasco » Wed Aug 01, 2012 12:25 pm

Been looking for a .357 revolver to compliment my Rossi .357 lever-action.
Found this Rossi 972 on sale at Gander Mountain. It was their display piece.
Paid a little less than Bud's price out-the-door.
I'm very surprised at how light it is. Only 35oz, a full 10oz lighter than a comparable Ruger!
Also very impressed by the trigger in single-action. Wasn't expecting that from a Rossi...
Can't wait to send some lead through it!

Nice buy!

Congratulations. That's very nice and sexy if I may be so bold in saying _: .

That's a nice piece. Good to see you are buying toys again. So how much was the revolver ?

Nice!

Between a lever and revolver, you can definitely handle the zombie hordes.

Thanks, Limey! But I can't help but wonder if it makes my ass look big... :-k (No, it's my ass which does that!) [smilie=011.gif]

I paid $349 + tax. Total out-the-door was $377.99. Last I checked, Bud's wanted $381.00. Then there's the FFL charge...

I got to shoot it some yesterday. It purred like a kitten with Blazer 125gr. 38+P.
Very accurate, well balanced, and the trigger in single-action... oooohhh, silky!
Can't say as much for double-action, though. Takes quite a pull to get everything to happen at once. High & right is the inevitable result.
For my intended purpose, it's a very good fit and a bargain!

I had been looking at .357 revolvers for quite a while, including this very nice 627-5 which has been in Gander's used case for some time.
I wonder why they can't find a buyer...
