D.A.V.I.D Please confirm... Once and for all.

Post by FfNJGTFO » Fri Jun 16, 2017 10:32 am

Someone in a different forum posted that CWFL records are available through D.A.V.I.D, the Driver license database. I had thought that due to FS 790.0601, these records were "confidential" and not available in D.A.V.I.D., unless they're invoking FS 790.0601(3)(c) for that purpose.

Can anyone please clarify... once and for all?

Thanks. [smilie=cheers1.gif]

I've never heard of that. I know that years ago, CWL (concealed weapons license) were made confidential, and were only available to law enforcement for 'cause'.
This happened because some newspaper reporter (maybe in Palm Beach) published the names of Fla. license holders. At that time, they were considered public records.
.

That's what I thought as well.... that FS 790.0601 is what made those data confidential, and prohibited linking of them to D.A.V.I.D.

I just wanted to ensure that the "cause" you mentioned (and I assumed referred to in FS 790.0601(3)(c)) is "permanent" and authorized linking to D.A.V.I.D.

Thanks!

They are not available thru DAVID. It is a totally different database and they are not linked at all.

Not in DAVID, NOT LINKED EITHER. Has to be looked up through FCIC.

DAVID is for DHSMV documents only.
