No more "gun free zones" in FL?

Post by Springfield » Wed Feb 15, 2017 11:33 am

Article in today's Miami Herald on a bill to eliminate gun free zones
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politic ... 17159.html

The article refers to this bill, sponsored by Sen. Dennis Baxley, of Ocala, and Rep. Don Hahnfeldt, of The Villages
http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/Sections/ ... ssionId=83

A key point is their intent to "tests the appetite for legislators to eliminate the illusion called gun-free zones.” Of course the opposition is pushing back hard, including the Florida Coalition to Prevent Gun Violence.
America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves. ~Abraham Lincoln
Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. ~Ben Franklin

That is the date that the law would go into effect if passed, if I understand your question correctly. [smilie=cheers1.gif]

I'll be surprised if any of them get out of committee.
