New from N Lakeland

Postby Relayer » Sat Apr 22, 2017 12:15 pm

Hi everyone. Just joined because our family church needed assistance with security and I decided to join said group. FSN was next to join to get with like-minded people who aren't afraid of firearms. I was raised around weapons and was trained in the Army with M-14 and 1911 back in the early 70s. Now I'm asked if I carry but sadly I said no because I never had the need. Lately, with what has been going on around even our small town, things have changed. So I'm looking to purchase a Glock 26 for carry to start with. Any information on the best way to buy the weapon, ammo, gun range and the like would greatly be appreciated. Thanks for your time, folks.

Welcome From Wesley Chapel! [smilie=cheers1.gif] There are a number of different options for you. The one thing I would abolutely recommend is that you "Try before you buy." That is, go to a local range and see if they have the weapon you want available for rent. Try it out and then make your purchase. The rest comes later.

Sarasota waving hi.

As was said try the Glock.
You're a 1911 guy and may find the Glock "wrong"

I'm not knocking Glocks. They're reliable , accurate, and have no soul. Seen one seen them all.

Shoot one or 2 or 3 . They come in all sizes and calibers.

Go to a gun show and fondle a lot.

Hope you make the right choice
