L85a2 chassis project

Post by Jonathanw » Wed Jan 18, 2017 11:48 pm

Hello,

Working on a side project, I have a high end L85 full metal airsoft gun that I just gutted of some internals and barrel while keeping parts that keep handguards in place and other things I may need. I wanted to use the shell as a chassis for a 10/22 or something else but 22 in a l85 has already been done so I was thinking of bolting a 9mm carbine in there. A marlin camp 9 would fit perfectly however way expensive for this little project so I was thinking about using a high point carbine with a pinned and welded muzzle break for OAL to fit in the gun. However I'm unsure of the dimensions of the high point when the dust cover is removed so I'm asking if anyone has this rifle they could help me out and see if it would fit in place ?

what measurements do you need, I have one I'll be repairing next week sometime
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

So I'll need a host gun that will fit inside the receiver

Can you perhaps mill down the sides of a 10/22 or a marlin Uber fed 22?

Update: received the rifle and everything should fit fine, gotta modify a few of the airsoft parts I'm going to use to keep the handguards on Still have to design a trigger system.

Had to take off the hand guard front cap off to put the mag tube, will dremel the front cap and put it back on
