Must be an old picture. Right where it is marked PB shooting range there is a driveway and no canal. It's actually more like a drainage ditch I think. Either way the entrance will be right there

Thanks, the plans show a planned access driveway across the ditch right about where the building is. I knew there had to be a way for construction equipment to easily get on to the property.

Having this a Sticky with pic updates would be great.

I thought the berm would be looking west. :-k
It seems to be the safest direction IMO.

UPDATE 3/6/17
Went out yesterday and took a few pics, they are working like little busy bees [smilie=cheers1.gif] . Lots of heavy equipment running around, some welding trucks and crews doing their thing.

The shelters over the firing line look almost complete.

I tried to post pics, but I cannot for some reason. I can text them to somebody..

Husky,

Open a free account on Photobucket.
Upload your pictures to it.
Copy the link from each photo on Photobucket.
Paste the link here.

If you have any problems, just ask for help. It's not hard once you do it a few times.

I'm not sure about imgur. I've never used it. They need to provide you with links to each photo that you can copy and paste into fsn. Photobucket does this under "share" which is why most people use it.

If imgur provides you with links, then you can use the button on fsn and paste the link in between the .

Went by yesterday and there has definitely been progress compared to when I was last there. Covers over the firing line look pretty complete. Not sure about the building that was supposed to be for bathrooms and check in I don't even see it.

Can anyone confirm what I've been hearing... no plans to host any action pistol matches? No IDPA, USPSA, SASS, or 3-Gun?

Came in off northlake and drive straight up the unpaved white sand road ( get your auto dirty like I did )drive up approx 1/2 mile then make a right off road into range, they were still working on the project when I was there two weeks ago, hope they blacktop that entrance roadway or it's going to be nasty when it rains ....

I heard this from a lady in the know. They are not going to host carbine classes either. I was shocked, also one second between each shot rule..no rapid fire. This is going to suck.

It would cost a fortune to blacktop the road, it is 3 miles btw....it will tear a car up in no time, esp when the ruts and deep pot holes appear.

I wouldn't get too worked up about the kind of shooting they will allow until the range becomes operational.

First of all, is FWC going to run the range or are they going to contract it out? They used to contract it out at their other ranges in FL but they were criticized for this by state commissioners a few years ago and announced that they would run the ranges themselves in the future.

Secondly, they may impose rules similar to Markham park but then allow shooting clubs to operate there with their own rules, similar to Markham. There is a huge difference between daytime public shooting at Markham and the stuff that goes on at night. At one time, they even held a machine gun shoot there once a month.

Markham is an extreme case because the rules are made by Broward County Commissioners, none of whom have ever held a gun in their hands. The PBC shooting range is going to be governed and maybe run by FWC.
