I'd agree with P5 guy. They're not as loud when you're shooting it, though.
I was shooting a French MAS 49/56 in 7.5x54, with flash hider. A younger guy 3 tables down was looking at me. I asked if it was too loud. He said, "It's pretty intense, man."

On the public line at Manatee Gun & Archery I had a fellow shooter ask If I was shooting a .300 Magnum? No it was my M1 Garand. I guess noise is all subjective. The fellow that asked was shooting a lead sled bench rifle.
The guy shooting at Dade City gun club on the pistol line with the M4orgery really had my ears ringing. I was all the way to the right, against the wall so that possibly helped reflect sound back at me.
Now I have an AR so look out folks and double up on the ear protection!

I'd have to say Either an M44/T53 or a Hungarian M95.

Standard hunting rifle calibers aren't a problem. Put a compensator or flash hider on it, or stand somewhere adjacent to the muzzle and it gets really loud.

I was at least four lanes over from the shooter and there was no muzzle break. The entire shooting bay was deafened. Four or five other folks were off the line in the back complaining/WTFing.

You go to a place to rent a spot to be able to let off as many controlled explosions as you can/desire to in an hour and complain when someone else has a bigger bang than you/youre used to?

Guess the premiere 5 Star range isn't all its cracked up to be.
In fact this sounds like the other ranges that are open to the public.
Word is they already have a sinking safety record although I am not a judge of these things in my current job.

It is good there are choices in the area though.

What exactly is your complaint and your expectation?

if the report is too loud, you're too damn old

Well, I can see it annoying being right next to me at the range. But I am nice I usually warn people before I shoot my M11 full auto. Lots of brass coming their way. _:

Complaining about noise at the range that's funny, =:vio I like shooting a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine will make people turn their heads or annoy them with a cloud of smoke from a Black powder rifle

I didn't fire it personally but at TGR I was down at the lower number range and they had a guy there at the last lane usually keft aside for blackpowder popping off .50 BMG out of a Barrett I clearly heard over my ear protection 60+ lanes down, got half a chub! It was my first BMG experience and loved the NOISE!
