Pasco/Polk County explosions

Post by Cardboard_killer » Sat Dec 09, 2017 8:24 pm

I've been hearing some loud explosions in Zephyrhills, but didn't think anything of it (assumed fireworks), but my sister called from wesley chapel and said there were complaints as far away as Polk county and that it wasn't fireworks. Anyone know of any mining activity or ordnance testing in the area today (12/9/17)?

I don't know, but my wife was at her aunt's house in Hudson and heard it, and our daughter heard it in Lakeland. Around 1:50 PM.
My wife said it reminded her of the sonic booms we used to hear when the Space Shuttle was landing at Canaveral, but louder.

@NoradNorthcom just told me they authorized its jets to go supersonic over Gulf this afternoon. Not an incident response but no reason given by spox. Standby for more deets @TB_Times
