REFRIGERATOR LEAKING WATER

Post by Dave P » Tue Jun 05, 2018 8:44 am

My old refridge is acting up. Has had puddles under the bottom drawers for months. And water in a mid-level drawer.

Some condensation on the back wall. Door seals seem fine. No icemaker to leak. Drip pan down by floor is dry.

Idears?

I would say the drip pan being dry would show that the condensation drain is probably plugged or frozen shut. I just recently had to defrost my freezer to fix my issue too

Yeah, I have a side-by-side that does this about every two years on the freezer side. I break up the ice, pour hot water down the defrost drain hole, and snake it with one of these:

So there should be a drain hole from freezer (up top) down to drip pan.

Freezer has a bunch of stuff in it, but not overly iced up.

I will look.

I found an old box of gortons frozen fish parts, frozen to the low freezer shelf. Wonder if they are still good??

It was allowing ice to build up behind it, in what appears to be a drainage slot. I will thaw that out, and see what happens.

Thank you, men!

I've tried a hair dryer, hot water, and compressed air but I've never tried the peeing thing thing that might actually work good [smilie=011.gif]
