Contact Publix

Post by Water Rat » Fri May 25, 2018 5:45 am

Apparently Publix has made donations to NRA supportive politicians. The marshmellow minds of the Parkland juveniles have found out and apparently are staging publix die ins across the state where they go into the store and lay on the floor for 12 minutes.
Publix has issued a statement they they will be reviewing their donation giving.

Let Publix know gun owners shop there and will go elsewhere if they let a bunch of juveniles dictate Publix policy.

If you know Publix politics, they'd prefer we not shop there. Or carry there. Or be allowed to have a gun in their parking lot. Or own a modern sporting rifle or standard magazine. They have a long history of being unfriendly.

Where things got crossed up this time is the guy who signs our CCWs... Adam Putnam is looking for a promotion. As part if the department of ag he was responsible for weights and measures and certain inspections. From the article I read, he was rather friendly. Made some stuff pass fail instead of number rating. Made some stuff reinspect instead of shutdown. A friendly contribution to a friendly candidate. The fact he is friendly to us was a negative in their book if anything.

Not gonna waste my time. Almost all stores I shop at ban weapons and would call for more restrictions on them if they got too much negative Twitter attention. Everyone's afraid of the crazy liberal mob, because they will use their resources to destroy you.

I always thought publix was anti-gun. They pissed a lot of people off last year with there anti medical marijuana support and I don't think they lost any business.

how bad would that front bumper of a shopping cart feel at floor level :-k

whoops didn't see you there, wouldn't expect someone to be lying on the floor in Publix

Is ramming someone with a shopping cart, considered battery? ..... hell cart accidents happen every time I go shopping, I just look down, walk fast and veer into those on their phones and not paying attention, then apologize profusely, [smilie=033.gif] then turn the corner and laugh like a mad-man [smilie=011.gif]

Only 2 stores had "die ins", one organized by Publicity Hogg.
Publix has just stopped corporate donations. I expect the executives will keep donating to Putnam who has personal connections to them.

Did Publix escort these idiots out of the store or did they let them stay? This had to be bad for business: pro-gun or anti-gun. I wouldn't let anyone sit in the store, let alone lie down when their are customers there to spend their money. We should go to Dick's and lay down in the aisles and see if we get similar treatment.

Good to know all corporate donations have been suspended.
All of them...right?

Creates bad PR, plus "the customer is always right". I don't know if you know this, but Publix is by far the most expensive supermarket in our state, and the only way they can continue to get away with that is to keep people happy, even if that means caving in to stupid demands.

Here's a newspaper article with a poll on it that asks if Publix should support who they want or not.

https://www.local10.com/news/parkland-s ... -at-publix

So far, it's 61% in favor of Publix supporting whoever it is they want, including NRA backed politicians.

Precisely. Actually, I never shopped for groceries regularly at Publix for that reason, and I've even stopped shopping at Winn-Dixie (with the exception of one item). I shop at Wally World for my groceries and other things. Their prices are, generally, lower than both Publix and WD, for almost all of what I need. There's only one item I can't get there for which I have to go back to Winn-Dixie for it. But I haven't done that, lately.

But that's the only reason... price. Not Protest. I'm not big on "boycotting" in general, although if I do have a choice, I might choose the merchant that more aligns with my philosophy and policies, and shun others that do not.

I really only go to Publix if I want an excellent sub. A friend of mine has worked there since high school and she told me that they basically mark up everything they get 20% more. Boars Head meat even higher.

I shop at a "green" walmart for my basics and that's really it, get buy at around $25 dollars a week for myself.
