Looks like Pres. Trump is going to walk right into MUELLER's trap

Post by Flame Red » Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:41 am

I'm afraid that our wonderful President is doomed, as he seems to be willing to walking right into MUELLER trap to get him to testify under oath, and MUELLER's hound dogs will trap him into perjure himself. You know, the old one like "When did you stop beating your wife?" No matter the answer, you find yourself guilty.

POTUS left himself a way out.
Read carefully his statement.

I happen to agree that Mueller's offer is a trap and any attorney that would let his client meet is an idiot.

Damn, that's funny.

Trump has publicly admitted twice now to obstruction of justice in front of a national audience and no one cares. What's he's going to say that will hurt his chances come election time? The only concern is that the last person in the room talks him into putting federal law behind anti-gun movements. As long as the staff can prevent that from happening, there's nothing to worry about.

What are the two instances of obstruction of justice you're referring to?

He would have been subpoenaed anyways so why not just go in peacefully.

Mueller can subpoena him.
He can't compel him to speak.

Trump shows up and just says "on advice of counsel I refuse to answer"

But if you read his words at the press conference he left himself a way out.

That's it

Stubborn as a Mueller

Image

stilton’s place, stilton, political, humor, conservative, cartoons, jokes, hope n’ change, trump, mueller, russia, under oath, conspiracy

Just to be safe, better do his thumbs too.
President Trump has stated that he's willing to be put under oath to answer questions from special investigator Robert Mueller regarding Russian collusion, potential obstruction of justice, and the whereabouts of the kidnapped Lindberg baby. And, as good ideas go, we'd say this sure as blazes isn't one.

Let us be clear: we don't think Trump is guilty of diddly-squat, nor do we think he's a liar in the (ahem) traditional sense of the word. That being said, we believe the likelihood of his committing perjury under oath to be way over 100%.

This is owing to Trump's unique tendency to believe that anything which comes out of his mouth is true, no matter whether or not it intersects with "reality" in any way.

Take, for one of a million examples, his assertion that he "watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as the World Trade Center collapsed (on 9/11)." We have no doubt that Trump is telling the truth as he remembers it...but it never happened.

Or more recently when he threatened James Comey with his super-secret White House recordings of private conversations between the two men...which subsequently proved not to exist.

Trump is a showman, a raconteur, a salesman, a serial embellisher, and the owner of a Tourette's style mouth which blurts out anything - and we mean anything - that flits through his mind. We're not even sure his brain is telling his mouth what to say, or whether his brain just likes to listen to his mouth as if it were a favorite talk radio station.

Considering the mounting evidence that the whole Comey/Mueller/FBI/Russia circus was intended to do nothing other than frame Trump and throw him out of office, we think having him say anything under oath is likely to go badly indeed.

Still, if he does go through with this, we'd like to make two suggestions. First, the President should remember that the words "to the best of my recollection" are his new best friends.

And second, at the same session, put Mueller under oath too and let Trump ask him questions about why he chose anti-American conspiracists for his so-called investigative team.

Trump should have just made the comment....good thing I'm not Hillary, or you'd already be dead [smilie=011.gif]

One case of obstruction, two instances. The firing of Comey for investigation into Russian collusion and the asking of Comey to "go easy" on Flynn's investigation.

Comey was fired for cause, his deliberately going easy on Clinton in the email investigation, neglecting proper questioning of witnesses and writing the summary of the case well before what there was of the investigation was concluded. During the main part and the reopening of it he seems to have let politics guide him instead of following standard FBI procedures.

And asking Comey to go easy? Note that according to Comey's testimony he didn't order Comey to do anything. He didn't threaten him.

Here's a summary of the Federal Statutes on Obstruction of Justice. Unless you are a rabid Trump hater you can't make a case. In fact that is the primary problem with all the imaginary Trump offenses, Collusion and Obstruction and whatever else the Democrats can think up. They are driven to their conclusions by their emotions and politics, NOT THE LAW!

As for Trump testifying, he ain't cherry. he's been in a lot of civil suites and will follow his lawyer's direction exactly.

Yes, Trump has been deposed a hundred times. In any case, it really isn't up to Trump. It's up to Mueller. And Trump will be forthcoming, just like he said during the campaign--only guilty people plead the 5th.

And if he gets caught in a lie the republicans still hold congress so he won't get impeached, unless he gets caught doing something really bad like betraying the country to the Russians, in which chase he should be hanged. But we know he wouldn't collude with the enemy to subvert the Constitution--how could any of us vote for someone we think could even consider doing that.

Some day folks will wake up and see these distractions for what they are. Hiding the real issues by keeping people focused on something meaningless. In the meantime we are spending millions on investigations.

Is anything really coming from it all? Both sides are corrupt as hell, vote them all out. Trump is no prize but he is a lot better than the alternative would have been.

Anyone claiming one side is the only way forward is in need of some learning. Get over the pretty stuff and move on with getting our country moving forward.

Was it the 12 congressional investigations we had on Benghazi that convinced you of that, or the one we are having on Russian tampering with our constitutional process?

Tampered with by posting fake stuff on social media? Really? Wow, those retards will believe anything anyway I guess.

I think it is Congressional pastime to investigate each other. And of course spend our money doing it.

Just wait if the Dems get control of the House. There will be a billion investigations and impeachment proceedings.

Well, duh. It's 1997 all over again. I'm surprised they didn't do it in 2007, except they were trying to get a dem president so decided that it would hurt their cause. I suppose now that they saw the results of 2015 and figured out that having a dozen investigations over nothing was a winning path.
