How much land to hunt?

Post by 870Mike » Tue Jan 23, 2018 12:18 pm

I'm looking at a lot in Okeechobee for $7900. 1.5 ac. It is rural and surrounded by (mostly) vacant land. Can I "hunt*" hogs on it?

* Hunt = Set up small trailer, bait, sit, drink, wait, BLAM, BBQ.

Sure you can.
Set up your shooting position high off the ground so you shoot down so your bullets hits the ground.
If your bullet crosses your property line then you can have a lot of troubles.

seems like its cheaper to invest in a lease
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

Cheapest lease within 3 hour drive from South Florida is $4k per year.

Can you collect rent from the hogs?
An arm and a leg maybe?

Way too small. Like "hunting" in your back yard. My son had about 50 acres and had to be very careful about deer and hogs running into neighbors land. A couple parcels over and they'd be lost.

Roughly 255' square- 85 yards.
