M&P 15 mags?

Post by czharry » Mon Mar 16, 2015 12:03 pm

I just ordered an M&P 15 Sport, my first AR type firearm, $601 with shipping. It comes with only a single 10 rnd mag. As to the mag, 10 is fine for the range.
Odd thing is that some vendor sites say comes w/ 30rnd mag, or adjustable stock, or 10rnd mag, or fixed stock, muzzle brake or not, or a combination of those. Mine says fixed stock, fixed sights, 10rnd mag, doesn't mention muzzle brake. Now I'm wondering if some vendors swap the adjustable stock with a fixed, and the 30rnd mag with a 10, then sell them at a premium?
I wouldn't mind having the adjustable stock. I'm waiting till it arrives to see exactly what it has.

Do any AR type mags work with this S&W?
I wouldn't mind a couple of 10's and a couple of 20's. Don't want the 30's. What's the name of the decent polymer mags? Magpul? I was reading a review, and one guy said he had feed problems with a metal mag, but not the polymer ones.
Any mag sales going on?

You probably bought the neutered one for the commie states. If Im not mistaken, they come from the factory like that and the modifications are not done by distributors.
Regarding mags, the m&p takes regular run of the mill ar15 mags.
PMAGs have gone a long way from the gen1s but I still see no need for them. I keep them around strictly for the next gunageddon.
Right now mags are cheap and plentiful- EVERYWHERE. Checkout slickguns.com for deals.

Here are a few to get you started from magcommander.

Yeah, I guess. I looked on the S&W site , and both Sport models were the same price. The other had the adjustable stock & 30rnd mag.
This is Lambo's Armory, a Texas company.( http://lanbosarmory.com/ ).

Thanks for the mag links.

I went with the ASC aluminum mags. They were cost effective, but we'll have to see if they're cheap.
Oddly enough, not only was I taxed (Fla company), but they even have our extra County tax, listed separately.

2x A.S.C. Aluminum 20 Round .223/5.56 AR-15 Magazine for $8.69 each
1x A.S.C. Aluminum 10 Round .223/5.56 AR-15 Magazine for $8.99 each

Subtotal : $26.37 USD

FL State Tax : $1.76 USD

Miami Dade County Tax : $0.29 USD

Shipping : $2.99 USD

Total : $31.41 US

These Lancer mags are some of the highest rated AR mags you can get, at bottom end pricing.

Botach ships fast and free with no sales tax.
Order Tuesday March 10th, had them Friday the 13th, shipped from California (FREE, I despise paying shipping and out of state sales tax).

Oh crap, the Lancers are mo' gooder? I ordered the ASC. Up to this point, I've only heard of Magpul.
Oh well, we'll just have to wait & see what happens after I get the M&P 15 here.

The mags arrived today. Also a note from the owner.
"Harry,
Thank you for shopping with us, and thanks for exercising your right to bear arms. I hope you enjoy these mags.
Daniel"

PSA had D&H 5.56 30rd Aluminum Magazine for $6.99 a week or two ago. Surely they will come up again.
