Chris' Handgun Postal Match: MAY

Post by HeWhoShoots » Sat May 01, 2010 12:29 pm

This is just for fun, no prizes.

Gonna do things differently this time. Each stage must be completed successfully before able to move onto the next stage. See how many stages you can complete! [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

* Classes: Handguns ONLY. Will be two classes, Iron Sites and Unrestricted Sites
o For the time being, all calibers will be scored together for an overall winner. Will break them down if enough entries
o Iron Sites means NO scopes, holosights, optical red dot, etc
o Unrestricted Sights means any sight or scope allowed
* One Handed or Two Handed shooting allowed
o Must be standing
o NO rests or supports
* Targets must be shot in MAY, 2010
o Targets must be uploaded and linked to this thread no later than 11:59pm MAY 31st

Shoot any handgun you want, just post what it was and type of sights.

STAGE ONE
Use this target: http://targetz.com/targetzlib/20022.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Distance: 7 yards
Number of Rounds: 5
The challenge is to hit the Bowling Pin with all 5 shots.
If at first you don't succeed, then just try again! Once you have successfully completed Stage 1, move on to Stage 2.

STAGE TWO
Use this target: http://targetz.com/targetzlib/20026.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Distance: 7 yards
Number of Rounds: 6
The challenge is to fire one round at each light bulb and break the bulb. Six bulbs, one round per bulb, so total of 6 rounds fired. You must break all 6 bulbs in order to successfully complete this stage.
If at first you don't succeed, then just try again! Once you have successfully completed Stage 2, move on to Stage 3.

STAGE THREE
Use this target: http://targetz.com/targetzlib/20027.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Distance: 7 yards
Number of Rounds: 15
The challenge is to fire one round at each light bulb and break the bulb. 15 bulbs, one round per bulb, so total of 15 rounds fired. You must break all 15 bulbs in order to successfully complete this stage.
If at first you don't succeed, then just try again!

If you manage to successfully complete Stage 3...congrats! Now you get to start all over again, now from 15 yards instead [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

If you manage to still do all three stages at 15 yards...wow, you're good! Now you get to start all over yet again, now at 25 yards [smilie=011.gif]

EDIT: We'll count any hit that breaks the line as good. Any part of the bulb, including the socket, will count as good.

I am hoping to shoot next week sometime. Maybe I can give it a whirl. I shot for last months match but was ashamed to post my miserable scores. [smilie=042.gif]

If SIG holds true to the current time frame, I'll be shooting this match with a G21 and Buckmark. That means I probably won't have to push the targets out to 15 yards. [smilie=011.gif]

I've also removed the firing pin from Mrs Onree's gun. [smilie=033.gif]

This!

Holy crap on a crutch! My eyes were crossing and I may have missed the paper a few times. It was pointless to even keep the targets - they ended up being practice runs. :ham'r [smilie=011.gif]

Maybe next week will better.

Why didn't you ask Mrs. Onree for a few pointers? [smilie=011.gif]

I may try 15 yards this weekend, but I doubt it. That last target was killer on the eyes. I think I might need glasses after this postal match Chris!

Well, I finally got a chance to try the postal match targets today. I used the 1911 I picked up 2 weeks ago, it seemed to shoot well if I did my part.

Stage 1 was a piece of cake. =D>

Stage two I had to do twice to get no misses. =D>

Stage 3 was a booger, I did it twice too and then stopped. I believe in try, try again, then stop, no sense in making a danged fool of yourself. [smilie=011.gif]

Wow, it's the last day of the month and we sure don't have many results. Anybody else going to submit their targets?

I printed the targets to shoot, but the range nazis made it impossible for me to focus and I ran out of time.
