Pistol Match Version 2.0, Winner ONREE!!

Post by Mahamotorworks » Tue Jun 10, 2008 8:23 pm

With the fun that was had with the first pistol match, I decided that we should go for it again. Only this time there are a couple of changes.

FSN Pistol Match Version. 2.0

Pistol Rules:
• No scopes, no rests.
• One handed or two handed shooting allowed.
• Calibers: 22LR, 9mm, 357 Mag, 357 Sig, 40SW and 45ACP
• Targets must be shot starting the 16th of June, 2008 and uploaded no later than 11:59 July 6th, 2008.
• 50 points max per circle, 300 points total max. (Five (5) rounds per circle)
• Shots on ring will get higher score if 50% or more of the shot lies inside ring.
• Shooting distance: 10 Yards.

Winners will be broken down by caliber. The Person with the Highest Over all score, will get a prize from me. If anyone else wants to add prizes for the winners, let me know.

Here's a link to the PDF: Pistol Match Target
The center of the circle (white area) should be one (1) inch. The outer edge (black area) should measure two (2) inches across. If you're having a problem with the size, ensure "Page Scaling" is set to NONE when you print.

Had fun on the last one, so I'm in!

10 yards? My range has 7 yards and 15 yards marked, but not 10. So, I'll have to guesstimate.

Looking forward to it!

My indoor range does not allow anyone to go downrange. They use a cable/pulley system to place targets and there are pre-defined lines at 3, 7, 15 and 25 yards. No big deal though, I'll just go halfway between 7 and 15 and shoot at 11 yards, if that's cool?

Took my Dad to the range today for Father's Day. Was a good excuse to get my hands on his 30-30, hehe. And a good time was had by all [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

11 yards sounds good to me. I dont think that the range markers are 100% correct at the range we shoot at.

Going to have to shoot indoors to get 10 yards.
Give me a little while to figure out excuses.

Went to the range to test some reloads and shot this with a .22 semi-auto. I think i scored like 20 points. It looked like I was doing pretty good... until I walked up to the target and saw holes everywhere but the targets.

Good luck!

We went last night--it was pretty busy, we had to wait a couple minutes before we could shoot. Of course, we stayed almost five hours, so it was worth the wait!!!

We'll post our targets later....

Maybe yours... mine sucked.

Gonna try again next weekend and see if I can do any better. I made the mistake of starting off with the Glock 31 (357SIG) and man did I pay for it!

Just got back from the range. Had a great time, as always :) Was mostly concentrating on my .44 Anaconda today but I did shoot my Dad's Ruger Single-Six .22lr revolver for the Postal Shoot.

Image

Here it is, at 10 yards (as near as I could make it):

Unofficial score: 170 points

Too bad they weren't all more like the middle right one, lol. Based on the last contest, I'll have to do much better than I did today to beat out Onree in the .22lr category.

Tomorrow, I'll try my luck with the PT-99AFS 9mm.

Thanks :)

I'll probably do the Kel-Tec P11 9mm next weekend, just for kicks.

I know the feeling! I was zeroing in my .44 the other day and was getting there slowly. Once, I made a few adjustments, sent the target out, shot 6 rounds, thought to myself "those felt good!", brought the target back....no holes, lol. I had adjusted the sight the wrong direction, heh.

I didn't bother to grade my targets, however I think that 170 is much better than I did yesterday. I'll have to see if I can do better next weekend.

I have shot it twice now. Both targets are less the 50 so I didn't keep them. I am going to try and make it out next sunday and shoot it again. For some reason 7 yards is no problem for me to get small tight groups but you add the extra 9 feet and I suck.

Just got back from the range. Went with a couple of friends and had a great time. Abby had never shot before, and Rico had limited experience. Spent much of my time with them, making sure all went well. They both had a great time and asked me when I was going to the range again [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

Anyway, while there, I shot the following target with my Taurus PT-99AFS (9mm) at 10 yards.

Image

Shot them in the following order:

1 2
3 4
5 6

1: 25 points - Not too bad. 3 shots right on top of each other in the 5 ring, and one in the 10. One flyer :( #-o
2: 20 or 15 - Not as good :( One shot right on the line for the 10, I *think* it is 50%, but hard to tell. TWO flyers [smilie=012.gif]
3: 40 points - Now were talking! They should all be like this one
[smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]
4: 25 points - One flyer that is *almost* a 5 pointer, but not quite. Another that was *almost* a 10, but not quite.
5: 10 points - Uhg! All around it, but not in it #-o #-o
6: 35 points - Much better. Nice 3 shot grouping in the 10 ring! Another flyer #-o Hate flyers!

Total: 155 or 150 points

Way too many flyers. It's hard to be consistent through all 30 rounds. Great practice though! I'll probably try again in a week or two before the contest is over.

I almost forgot.

Does this count for any bonus points? [smilie=011.gif]
