Extended till Tuesday ! May 9-25/08 FSN Rimfire Postal Match

Post by miamitj » Fri May 09, 2008 9:46 pm

Date to turn in your targets was extended till Tuesday 11:59PM. This way everyone can use the long weekend to shoot.

Here is the official target: http://www.cwlmiami.com/postalshoot/fsn ... tmay08.pdf. It MUST be printed on a 8.5x11 sheet paper. A correct print should have a .5" border all around.

Shoot is broken into two categories(.22 Calibers and .17 Calibers) and one winner will be selected from each category. There are no scope restrictions so you can shoot the target with whatever scope you like or with irons.

Rules are:

1. No full rests -- front rests / bipod only
2. 5 shots per target at 50 yards
3. Target must be shot and a picture/scan uploaded and posted on this post no later then 11:59 on May 25th
4. 50 Pts max per target, 600 pts total max
5. Shot touching ring will get higher score only if 50% or more of shot lies in ring

4 winners total will be selected. 1 winner in the .22 class using a scope and 1 winner in the .22 class using irons. The other two winners will be the scoped and iron shooters in the .17 class. Person with the most points on the sheet, MAX of 600, wins. Questions or issues resulting from scoring is decided by the referees (I need two volunteers).

This shoot is informal and just for fun. May the best shooter win !!!

Sounds like an excuse to buy another [smilie=pdt_xtremez_30.gif]

Seriously, if you line in SFla you can meet me at TG Thursday and you can shoot one of my CZ 452's.

Any thoughts about breaking it up between iron sights and optics? None of my .22s currently sport glass. [smilie=012.gif]

I don't care -- we can do it that way -- :) So we have a winner in each category for irons and one for scoped.

Its official I suck. I went to Markham today and this was the end result. So now that the worst score is up everyone else can post there’s without being embarrassed.

I used my Ruger 10/22 with a Nikon 4x28 Pro-staff scope. Ammo was Remington Golden Bullet bulk pack ammo.

Can I use a .22 mag? If not I will be entering the Non-optic runnings. I think that I am shooting this sat w/ my bro.

This sounds like it has the potential to be a lot of of fun!!!
I printed out a few "official" targets and will be heading out to the range tomorrow with my son.
I need to sight in a 10-22 bull bbl I bought slightly used from a fellow FSN member a month or so ago and haven't had a chance to take out for its cherry popping session. ( I know its been man handled by others, but its still cherry to me.)
And my son will shoot his already broken in 10-22 I bought for him a few months ago.
He and I already have a competition going between ourselves so this will add a whole other dimension to the festivities.
Hopefully one of us will shoot well enough for me to be able to post our results without feeling the need to delete this post in its entirety due to extreme embarrassment and shame.
Regards,
Jon

I was planning on heading out to the Range to night but after looking at the Radar before I left work. It was a no-go. Way to much rain and wind. It will probably be saturday before I make it out there.

Is it a rimfire specific scope? They normally have very thin cross hairs so that that does not happen. I know my rimfire Leupold scopes are very thin.

Nope its just a regular hunting scope that I found at a yard sale. Its not everyday you find a Nikon scope that works for 5 bucks. Standard ProStaff 4x28

My first time out with my very first .22 rifle.
Shooting wallyworld Remington 550 bulk pack.
Not making excuses, just need practice.
Judging by this target lots and lots of practice!
Had a fun afternoon shooting with my son, so its not a total loss.

Thats the best so far -- I doubt I would be much better with all my "fancy" equipment. Best of all, you had fun shooting with your son, nothing else matters [smilie=pdt_xtremez_30.gif]

I might get out this weekend and give it a try, my coughing has gotten better today.

Omi,
Do it man!!
This is a cool thing you resurrected.
Give it a shot, Thump777 was brave enough to post the first target, and I followed suit.
I'm proud of Thump for having the jewels to be the first postal poster :ber
Even though neither of us came close to achieving Carlos Hathcock type scores it was still fun!!!

Jon
