Because we may lose the Senate during the mid terms, and no judge nominated by Trump will be will be approved by the Dems. Or Ruth could do us all a favor, & kick the bucket. GARY

Current projections are the Republicans pick up 2 Senate seats and hold the House. There's been a big reaction to the Dems Kavanaugh slime among men and the "Blue Wave" is over.

I don't recall ANYONE giving this guy a FULL VETTING prior to him running for the POTUS gig and the last time I looked this gig was pretty damn serious.

The obligation of the Supreme Court is to preserve the law, especially the first law, the Constitution, not to preserve personal liberty per se. But the Democrats believe that the obligation of the Supreme Court is to rewrite the Constitution IAW their latest political cause, ignoring the words and original intent.

So Kavanaugh needs either Flake (drama queen nut) or Manchin (Democrat). Wow.

Manchin now says he is in for Kavanaugh. We'll see. Thank Christ he is running for reelection in a state where the votes of normal white men still matter.

If the issue does not need Flake's vote, God only knows what he will do. Maybe abstain.

Collins gave a long speech in the Senate, stomped on Dems, praised Kavanaugh at great length, went over everything extensively. Inferred that Dems used Ford against her wishes, mistreated her and pushed her into the Senate testimony. And seemed to say the pro-choice movement is political, not just for womens rights because they opposed Republican nominees who upheld Roe v Wade.

A hell of a lot stronger than I expected although you'll see little of it on TV. She isn't just mindlessly "bipartisan" and a lot more thoughtful than dorks like Flake and Manchin, both weak reeds swaying in the apparent wind. I don't know how the Socialist Democrats will treat this but you can bet that the broadcast networks, CNN, MSNBC, and big Liberal papers will cut out anything they don't like. Collins beat up on them pretty good for politicizing the confirmation and it doesn't fit in their script.

And BTW Mirkowski is beneath contempt. She caved to some Native Americans who were upset about a Kavanaugh ruling that stopped unfair disadvantages for those not of Hawaiian descent. If Kavanaugh hadn't got the 51 votes Mirkowski would voted in a Supreme Court tie that would hand her state over to the CA Leftist weirdos of the 9th District Court. This is despite her being supposedly in favor of a lot of things we want like gun rights.
