Daphne, AL

Can anyone give me the rundown on the Daphne, AL area? I have family that's moving from TX to Daphne. Seems like a kind of random decision, but they seemed to like that area when driving through. Can you tell me the pros and cons and things to do in the area?

Daphne is on the "Eastern Shore" of Mobile Bay. It is a bridge away from downtown Mobile. It is a very nice suburban community, with decent schools, plenty of shopping (even a Bass Pro), and relaxed lifestyle.

I lived in Daphne and still have friends there. A great area with good schools and quick access to beautiful beaches and outdoor activities.

personally I would not move there, especially as s texan because of the income tax situations, like TX FLA has no income tax while AL does. if the person is not obliged to be in Daphne, I would suggest he look near pensacola which is a great area as well

I'm from Mobile and the sales tax is 10%.
Cost of living and property is much cheaper than Florida. At least from Tampa down.
