Volusia County Fairgrounds Gun Show 9/15, 916

Post by cal45 »

Has any one been to one the guns shows run by Sport Show Specialists?
http://www.flgunshows.com/show-schedule ... tions.html

There is one this weekend and as I'll be driving by on I-4 tomorrow, will be pulling off to check it out.

Per their website:
Sport Show Specialists - We currently provide the state of Florida with Gun & Knife Shows in 4 locations covering the areas of West Palm Beach, Melbourne, DeLand and Eustis. Sport Show Specialists has been in business and promoting Gun & Knife Shows since 1986.

I'v been to is several times. Like most other shows, not nearly as good as it used to be.

It's a smaller show with mostly dealers, some private sellers. If you're heading in that direction anyway, might as well stop by. In my opinion, it's not worth driving a long distance to get to.

Would love to hear how many tables and types of guns (Pistol vs Rifle, Hunting vs milsurp, Wood vs Plastic) are at the show.. Could not make this one..

Not bad....it actually felt like what a Gun Show was say 10-15 years ago. Not sure how many tables but the building looked full. There was a little bit of everything there...not a huge selection on new handguns - seems most new guns were the same from vendor table to vendor table (Glock, Ruger, some S&W, some H&K VP's...did not see any USP's at all). Went looking for a S&W M&P 45 2.0 model and only found one - dealer's best cash price was $525...decided to hold off on that.

One vendor had a large collection of older no lock S&W revolvers that all looked to be in very good condition - they also carried a 4 digit price tag (of the ones I peeked at).

Only once, Palm Beach years ago. Was pretty decent, but so were most then. I rarely do gun shows anymore, flea markets are more productive.

Many thanks for the report cal45... Amazing how the Old S&W revolvers have caught fire over the last years..

same guy that does all the central FL shows, and you'll notice he doesn't move too many of them, there is asking price and market price
He asked me to do better on a model 19 & mdl 27, that I had on my table, when I said no.... he preceded to tell me ( bragging  ) that he's getting 25% more for those "older" S&W pistols, I said yeah  , so you're asking me to do better ??, we both had the same model 19's on our tables, his was almost $ 150 more, same condition, but neither sold....

I used to go to the one in Melbourne when I lived over there, but after a while I realized that if I simply got up, threw a $5 bill in the trash and went back to bed, I was better off.

It was like they slid the fully loaded tables in and out of the back every other month with the same stuff on them.
