Fair price on a Mac-11?

Post by molivo » Mon Dec 19, 2011 10:36 am

A friend of mine wants to sell his Mac-11. What would a fair price be on it? He has several magazines with it, and the original box.

I don't think they're as desirable as the Mac10, but I'd still say at least $3k, maybe $3500.

the m-11 is more desirable then the m-10 as its sleeker and lighter a shooter sells for 2500-2800 and can go up to 3500 depending on the kit included with it

Assuming you are referring to the .380, top of the desireability list would be a Powder Springs (non-overstamp) gun, followed by a Marietta (non-overstamp), then RPB/ overstamp, and finally the SWD M11 and M11A1's (which have larger magwells to use zytel mags).........

Original 16 and 32rd mags are pricey......aftermarket mags for these are usually junk......

If you pick it up, prepare to hold on to your wallet........ .380 x 1500rpm =$$$

Avg price is about $3000-3200. NIB doesnt really matter right now. Here is a guy in FL looking for one.

Isn't the M10 more convertible to other calibers, and have more options for different uppers?

I personally have a Mac-10 in 9mm. The Mac10 is a lot bigger, heaver and run slowers than a Mac11. A Mac-10 is best if purchased in 45 because you can then convert it to 9mm and 22. There are really only 2 places to buy parts for the Mac-11 and Mac-10. Several of the companies that used to make aftermarket parts for them are now out of business, stoney creek is one that comes to mind. Richard Lage is pretty much setting the standard for any Mac. The biggest issues you find with Macs is the supply of good magazines at a fair price. A metal Mac-10 9mm can go for over $100 each. Practical solutions http://www.practicalpage.com/ coverts Mac-10 to an Uzi magwell for $325 so that someone can use cheap uzi mags. Many people with Mac-11s either use cheap zytel mags from Cobray and buy a lot of them because they usually dont last to long in fa. Also a lot of people convert Mac11s to use a Sten magazine because they are cheap. Lage has developed a 22 conversion for the Mac11 that costs about $500 and runs pretty good.

Here is my Mac-10 9mm with a Stoney Creek upper and a AR15 conversion to run a Ace Skeleton stock.

FWIW ... for an SWD M11/9mm, stock, with box and several Zytel (plastic) original SWD mags ... the going price is $3-3.2k for unfired, $3k for used in excellent shape. I've seen a few go recently for $2.8k and they sold in hours; ask more than that and you may have to wait days/weeks, and deal with various tire-kickers.

M11/9's are very flexible, thanks to Richard Lage, but they are also entry-level subguns, so a seller often has to deal with buyers who are not familiar or experienced with the NFA process. That means a lot of newbie hand-holding and "are we there yet?" phone calls, and it can be a PITA. Which is why some sellers price a couple hundred under market, but they make sure the buyers know the drill -- six months of weekly or even daily phone calls/emails from worried newbie buyers ain't worth the extra $$$.

HTH.

So 2500$ would be a good deal then? I think he has a few different uppers with it. I think he said he has five or six mags too.

Quite a difference between an M-11 and an M-11/9..........all M-11/9 guns are SWD manufactured. In my earlier post I thought you were talking about the original M-11 (in .380)

2500 is a good buy.....as long as all the welds are good. I wouldn't consider a Sten mag conversion.......not only are Sten mags a pain in the ass to load, and very hit-and-miss as far as reliability, the rewelding of your grip is a significant mod. Originality is always a good thing come resale time.

I run modified Argentine PAM-2 mags in my M-11/9......steel, and very reliable. Recon Ordnance is a good source for them. The only downside is that they are a bit too wide to allow the original wire butt to collapse......which they sometimes do in the middle of firing (not fun)

Buy it now....... [smilie=pdt_xtremez_13.gif]

Are you trying to buy it or help him assign a sale price to it?

Sold my SWD M11 last month for $3000 plus shipping/stamp. Advertised it on Uzi Talk for a day before I had a buyer. M11 included 10 zytel mags, barrel extension, and some small spare parts.
