He said he did call, but after checking my T-Mobile account I never saw a missed call from his number. In the end I got that stamp that's all that matters. /:f

I guess the lesson here is to stay on top of it and not rely on ATF's estimates. It is good to see that they've actually been doing a better job than they'd projected.

What I cannot abide is someone lying to me. If you forgot to call, own up to it. Not saying your FFL lied, but why not keep trying to call? I would expect a voicemail, or a phone call at least once a week.

That's my thinking. And my fault also for expecting that kind of service. In the end I guess I saved money on ammo for 4 months. I will be using a different class 3 dealer next time for sure.

Picked up my suppressor so here's the new info:

NFA Item: Thompson Machine DBSD (9mm compact suppressor)
Form Type: Form 4
Transferee Type: Trust
Forms Sent: 1 June 2014
Forms Received by BATFE: June 19, 2014
Check Cashed: 20 June 2014
Forms Pending: N/A
Forms Cleared: 1 November 2014
Form Received: N/A
Suppressor picked up: 5 December 2014

Seeing as how when I called a couple of months ago they estimated I'd get it sometime in March and instead the paperwork was signed on 1 November, I'd say they've finally started catching up. It actually took only about five months from the time I sent out the forms until they signed them. Overall, not bad. Definitely better than I'd expected.

Picked up my can this afternoon after the FFL called me to tell my my form came back approved.

Form 4 sent June 13th.
ATF notified FFL of an error on the form.
Correction sent off November 11.
Stamp came back approved December 15.

So 6 months almost to the day, 5 months almost to the day if it hadn't been for the correction.

Seeing as how the first suppressor came in about four months faster thatn I'd been told over the summer, I figured I'd call to check on the second one. When I called back in August I'd been told this one would be done by May of next year, but I called today and was told it was actually approved December 15 and the paperwork should be arriving at my dealer soon. Looks like I'll be having a great Christmas.

NFA Item: Thompson Machine QMF-CQ (45ACP compact suppressor)

Transferee Type: Trust
Forms Sent: 11 August 2014
Forms Received by BATFE: TBA
Check Cashed: 18 August 2014
Forms Pending: N/A
Forms Cleared: 15 December 2014
Form Received: TBA

You dropped off your forms the exact same day I sent mine out. Give them a call to see if it's been approved.

I picked up my last suppressor today. A .45 Cal Thompson Machine QMF-CQ. It's a special build they made. Basically it's a shorter version of their QMF suppressor.

Here are the details

NFA Item: Thompson Machine QMF-CQ (45ACP compact suppressor)
Form Type: Form 4
Transferee Type: Trust
Forms Sent: 11 August 2014
Forms Received by BATFE: TBA
Check Cashed: 18 August 2014
Forms Pending: N/A
Forms Cleared: 15 December 2014
Form Received: 19 December 2014
Item Picked up: 20 December 2014

Once again, from putting it in the mail to receiving the paperwork back was almost exactly 4 months. Not bad.

Picked up yesterday my very honest WWII MP40 smg. Details:

1. NFA item: machine gun
2. Form Type: paper Form 4
3. Transferee Type: Living Trust
4. Forms Received: 10/4/14
5. Approved Date: 01/16/15

Three-and-a-half months start to finish. Thanks to ATF for this level of service, easily the fastest Form 4 turnaround I've experienced.

Picked up from my C3FFL this afternoon my North Korea-manufactured PPSh-41 and my Smith & Wesson model 76. Although I had mailed the two Forms 4 in separately on December 15, they apparently had been processed together. Details:

1. NFA item: machine guns (2)
2. Form Type: paper Form 4
3. Transferee Type: Living Trust
4. Forms Mailed: 12/15/14
5. Approved Date: 03/12/15
6. Received Date: 3/28/15

Three-and-a-half months start to finish. Exactly the same as my last Form 4 turnaround, Oct 2014 to Jan 2015.
