200 K forms now at ATF.....holly cow

Post by Rentprop1 » Sat Jul 09, 2016 10:52 pm

About a month ago someone claimed the number of forms in the backlog was just over 100,000.
Today Capitol Armory had an Instagram post that said the forms now total over 200 K. [smilie=eek.gif]
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

They should create a NFA permit system like conceal carry , after u get the permit you can buy or build any NFA item . Beats this rubbish . I'd prefer no NFA but not enough support to repeal it

I've got a USPS overnight package that's going in the mail tomorrow, with $10,610.00 in Form4s in it. Jan1-June1 was 17 forms, June1-yestrday was 55 forms, with another 8 who are supposed to come in and sign in the AM. And I'm a "nobody".

I'm guessing wait times will be back up to 14 months by the end of the summer.

Remember, that $200 goes right into the general fund.

Silencer shop posted a photo with over 1200 lbs of form 4s on Facebook! I suggested reenacting Dec 16th 1773 with them!

What are the wait times going to be like?

If it's to long I might get bigger and fatter ear protection for a alternative for sound "suppression " [smilie=011.gif] [smilie=011.gif]

ATF spokesperson said ........

NFA Branch has 24 examiners staffing it. It’s down from 26. There are now 4 sections within the NFA Branch. That’s up from the previous 2. There are 7 vacant examiner positions that they are in the process of filling. Projections into 2017 for additional staff to help the NFA Branch.

They are predicting 469,000 forms for this 2016 year because of ATF 41F

just thought you'all might wanna know

I had a form 3 approved on July 30th. So, they must have approved weekend overtime. If that's the case, I wouldn't think they are in any hurry now...
