New Griffin Armament “Optimus” Modular Silencer .22LR to .300 WM

Post by ilsrwy27 » Fri Nov 13, 2015 9:47 am

To be 100% honest, I am NOT into suppressors as I think most are a complete waste of money.
This being said it looks like Griffin Armament finally came up with one that I will have to buy:

It would be a good buy for someone that just want to have a little versatility without spending alot of money. If you own quite a few guns then its like mehh, to much taking apart to really enjoy it. But non the less its a great idea and a money saver. :ber

I can see someone swapping it around and forgetting the end cap, guess what will happen first time you put a 300 Bkl down the pipe with that 22 end cap [smilie=011.gif]

as far as money saver , meh...you could pay for 2 stamps and get 2 lower end cans for the same ammount...its a toss up :-k

I think it was more hype than anything.

I have 2 of the other "do all " cans the Liberty Mystic X and the Silencerco Hybrid and still say if you wanted to simplify ....get the Hybrid and a Rimfire can and call it a day.

As someone said before do all cans really do not do it all well...I'm very disappointed with the Mystic X . ...can't wait to do a video on YouTube with a sound meter ...

If you haven't shot it yet you will like it when you do. While the multi caliber capabilities are some what "meh" being able to shorten the can down for use on an SBR and go back to full length for when greater suppression is desired is a nice feature.

no where near good enuff :ham'r ....the cheap ones stop at 130 dB, thats about the top of the scale for a rimfire can....the " good " sound meters " cost about $ 3500-5000....so I never bought one, .....why....you ask....I don't make youtube video's =:wvr or get enough free sh!t from vendors, that want me doing T & E ( that's Test and Evaluation for GARY ) or review ( so over done =:wvr ) type vids to justify spending that coin for a few numbers that the manufacturer and someone else will soon put up on the web....

actually most suppressor manufacturers pride themselves in " the numbers ", what they put up is pretty realistic, but its not only the total dB in sound, but the " tone " that is pleasing or not to the ear.....
