Looking at a old itacha side by side 10 ga, from what I've been able to find it's a late 1800 shotgun, my question concerns ammo for this old shotguns, these were black powder, where can you purchase shells for these old guns?

I have never seen ten-gauge shotshells in any store.
Someone, somewhere, sells all-brass reloadable hulls in 10 gauge, I don’t remember where though.
Could be worse, if you’re into punt guns.

My Grandson has a sweet custom H&R and I found him some at B&H on Merritt Island.

They were full house OO loads though, and $3.75 each.

I dont know of any low power BP loads for an old gun.

Maybe the Cowboy Action fags would know of some.

Not for nothing but I suggest you learn to reload black powder rounds. Yes, there are brass shell casings available and they will last almost forever. Felt is readily available to make the wads. The neat thing about such a project is that you get to custom load the shells so that you don't have to tear your shoulder off every time you shoot it. It is a genuine antique and deserves to be treated as such. Another very viable option is to clean it up, polish it and hang it for a display piece. Gotta admit, not everybody has one.

take care, richard
