Remchokes on 870 Marine barrel

Post by REDinFL » Thu May 07, 2015 8:24 am

Anyone know if they make 870 Marine Magnum barrels with the Remchoke option?

Not sure. There is an extensive parts list on Remington's site listing everything they offer.

You can have a standard barrel threaded for RemChoke for about $65.

My info is a little outdated so grain of salt and all.

I contacted Remington about this and they said no, but the custom shop could make the barrel for me with the same finish. That being said it was pricey, as in more than I paid for my Marine Magnum. RoBar does an electroless nickel plating that is very close to the MM finish but slightly smoother and a lot cheaper if memory serves me correctly.

Good luck and report back with info you find I am still thinking about another barrel for mine!

Thanks, I'll look into these. I imagine the fundamental issue would be the possibility of the threading internal to the barrel would run the risk of rust. Even if plated, the plating would wear from installing and removing chokes. If it winds up being too much of a hassle, I'll just keep the MM in stock configuration and use my other 870 with the choke tubes: I have an 870 police and 4 barrels to play with, one being the rifle sighted with remchoke, talk about an almost universal gun.
