Desert eagle II

I've been looking at new handguns and am thinking about the Jericho/Desert Eagle II. Has anyone had any experience with them?

I don't know much about the newer models but the originals I can only compare to a Ruger, in that they were built like tanks and meant to last in some extreme areas. I had an all steel pistol-slide and frame and it was heavy. Recoil was nothing due to the weight. If you are looking to get one for h.d. it is a good choice but if you are looking to get it for ccw it will be like carry an anchor unless you get the polymer model but I don't have any experience with them.

I have a polymer framed compact with the slide mounted decocker. its a excellent gun with low recoil due to it being a cz clone. plus it takes cz mags. very smooth trigger. my only gripe about it is the decocker takes up serration Realestate on the slide and hurts the fingers a little while racking the slide. i wish it was a framed mounted decocker. i got mine brand new at a gun show for $325 about a year ago.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a fan of the .40/.45. The article I read was on the .45. What caliber is yours?
