My first time ever at a 300-Meter Range

Post by racer88 » Sat Feb 26, 2011 2:16 pm

This is my target from the 300-meter range. Bear in mind this was my first time ever shooting this rifle or shooting ANY rifle at 300-meters. I used photoshop to put red dots where the holes were... being .223-cal, it's hard to see the holes unless you hold it up to the light. Some of my CF Spydies were used to hold the target flat on the floor for the photo!

The "X-ring" is 2-3/4-inches in diameter.

Here is the rifle I used at this range. My friend built it for me! Very cool! I now need to buy my own bi-pod and scope.

Shooting farther than 100 is always fun. Keep up the good work!

After you get a couple 300's under your belt, go on over the Port Malabar and try the 600. You just come up 10moa from your 300 zero, and you'll be in the black. It's pretty easy because the target is six feet square, so there's no way you can miss paper.

Get yourself a decent scope, preferably at least 20 power, maybe 25. I used 20 power for my first three years at 600.

You've started some real fun there.

Thanks, glockpacker. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Something else to throw money at! [smilie=011.gif]

I know you said Spyderco's but some are so very similar to the Benchmade Vex and the Mel Pardue's [smilie=011.gif]
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.
