Any old single shot fans around the Daytona area?
Aaron
outside of a dog, a gun is man's best friend.
Inside of a dog, it's too dark to shoot.

Is this the same or similar fest as they have in Switzerland?

Yes, and Germany and around
Was very popular in the U.S. from after the civil war to WW1 and beyond.
Rifle competition in that time was America's sport, like football today.
Rolling Blocks, Winchester 1885's, Stevens Ideal, Martini's, Sharps, and the like.
Coors had a national Schuetzenfest in the 80's that drew a lot of attention.
Ever see "Quigley Down Under"?
They were mostly shot off-hand. Harry Pope, a noted gunsmith and shooter of that time said "Stand up on your hind legs and shoot like a man"
Today, both off-hand and benchrest are popular.
They're really wild looking.
How do you post a pic, I'd like to show you some.

When you're in the full editor, look for a button that says,"Img."
In between the tags, put the URL of where your pic is located.
I would use a photo upload service like Imgur or Photobucket on which to host the pic.

I think you can find monthly schutzen matches at the port malabar club.
Go Trump!
