Coal question reloading

Post by medic0079 » Wed Apr 20, 2016 11:17 am

So I got some 308 168gr sierra mk and reloaded them with oal of 2.80 as load data suggested. When I went to the range the bullets didn't seat well and the bolt had to be forced forward. I bought a Frankford arsenal coal gauge and am getting 2.680 in my rifle? Is the boar not deep enough? Savage model 10.
Thanks

Med,
Get that rifle looked at. Read somewhere a while back that Savage had some issues with rifles with really short throats leaving the factory. Call them and give them a detailed report of the problem and they wil probably take care of it.

Hope that helps.
