M1 Carbine - IBM values

Post by tomcat522 » Sat Jan 12, 2013 6:15 am

Have values of WW2 M1 C (IBM and others) gone up? Seems like the asking $$$ on Gunbroker (and some bids) are higher than i remember from even a few years ago (when i was a much more active shooter) - have things changed? thanks for any info

Carbines shot up a couple years ago. You cant judge anything by today's prices though. People are grasping for any ridiculous price they think they can get. Hell I saw an Iver Johnson for $1500 this morning! I picked up a Quality Hardware with an extra stock, bayonet, mags, and even ammo for $400 from Glockpacker a couple yrs ago. Deal of the century! At the guns shows before the madness they were all in the 795 range with no extras.

Before the shooting, I saw two at a pawn shop where I go shooting in Vero Beach. One went for $475.00 and the other was $600.00. I told myself that I would come back and pick one up, but was too lazy to go back. When I did return they were both gone.

Did Universal ever get theirs right? I had one in the 70's. Bought it because I had a real one in VN. Certainly not the same carbine then.
