Wood FAL furniture (Silver Crescent Industries ?)

Post by playswithstyrene » Mon Jan 11, 2016 12:16 am

Have an old FAL clone that I'd like to put in wood furniture. Googling around I found http://www.silvercrescentindustries.com has what looks like a good kit for it but I'm unfamiliar with the company.

Has anybody here ever dealt with them? Are there other FAL wood furniture vendors out there that you'd recommend?

Thanks. :ber

Metric FAL, or L1A1 style inch kit?

If Inch, there's plenty of wood on the market.

If metric, wood is harder to find, and the site you indicated says its in development. Check the FAL files, and look up blue monster wood, or advertise a WTB over there. Israeli Light Barrel wood handguards and butt are awesome, but wood pistol grips in good shape used to be tough to find.

I got a wood pistol grip from Silver Crescent years ago, other than being expensive it was a perfect fit
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

I've seen two FAL with Ironwood Design stocks and they were both beautiful.
I have a AK with Ironwood Design wood stock and they look great and it fit perfectly.

Thanks for the info, gents. [smilie=icon_smile.gif]

Quite honestly, I don't know if the FAL is metric or L1A1 style (imperial). This was one of my first rifle purchases and don't use it that frequently, so I know enough to clean it and use it safely but not much else.

It is overdue for a good scrubbing so will have to research what it is while it's field stripped.
