What is the value of a Poly Tech AK47 NIB?

Post by lucy » Sat Aug 16, 2014 10:57 am

I just met a fella' (non-FSN member) who has a NIB Poly Tech Legend AK47 with wood keyhole stock who wants to sell the thing.

Obviously, a fair price is what you are willing to sell or buy for. But, if you were going to purchase one, what would you consider to be a fair price or a good purchase price?

some folks think they are worth a mint, others consider them just another AK
In the days of the old west a 6 shooter was as common as cell phones are today and just annoying if they go off in a theater.

Keyhole stock?

I friend paid $2700.00 for one last year, I'd never pay that much. Also,AFAIK the legend only came with side folder, under folder, and standard wood stock. I've never seen a thumbhole (keyhole?) stock on a legend.

How much is he asking for the rifle? I think AK's have come down in price recently, but who knows with the way the market fluctuates anymore.

Search Gunbroker under advanced search and then click on the completed items tab.
Search using the term Polytech Legend.
I came up with most as not being sold (no bids) in the $2000 area.
There was a sale of an underfolder at $2125 and another with a regular stock at $1700
I did not scroll thru all 15 pages of listings, but I did not see any with a thumbhole stock.

consider the age of that rifle somewhere between 94-04, its just a 15-20 year old AK if you ask me, offer him $ 600 and take it or pass IMHO

But preban AK's did not come with a thumbhole stock. They had a seperate pistol grip, & buttstock. So it sounds like it's a milled MAK 90 which is worth about $600. Same quality as a real Legend, but not worth anything to a collector. It's a shooter. GARY

Lol I was being sarcastic, pre ban post ban who gives a s';t. The jackholes buying preban rifles are the same ones buying the mystical $10 black talons.
