What would be interesting is to break down the list of the actual factories producing lowers and then listing the OEM manufacturers underneath them.
I suspect even this is something of a moving target as much as their specifications are.

I believe that LAR manufacturing makes the lowers for Anvil Arms.

Isn't that what's on page 1? As far as specs, each company orders its lowers from the manufacturer to meet it's own spec guidelines. In other words, a Bushmaster and a Double Star may not meet the same specs.

Good luck with asking... I asked him face to face and there was no way to get the reply... But False Prophet thinks he has it right, would be good to know for sure, thanks False for the info.

"Anvil" : and I don't think it makes much of a concern. They are all made by a few companies anyway and i have asked him and the answer was, "made by the company that makes other major brands", so as long as it is "mil spec" same process as the "major" rifle makers it should be good for most of our uses, unless you are going to war.... _:

True... I think we could see what others think, I think I am going to sell it... I just can't afford to have this type of weapon right now.

Regarding Spikes, I seem to recall a discussion with one of the guys at the booth back in May. I don't remember what question I had asked, but the response was along the lines that there were only 3 or so factories in the US that supply all the receivers made. He told me the name of the factory that supplies their receivers, but I can't recall which ones it was. He did say that their ink filled receivers came from a different company than the all black receivers.

Maybe g34man or AR9mm could shed some light?

Considering that these wll most likely be banned soon, you might want to reconsider that unless you have another military style rifle....... :-k It occurs to me i might be taking a NRA instructor class in Brookville next year..... :ber

This is the response I got when I asked Anvil who made there lowers-

"Ben,

Thank you for the email and the opportunity to earn your business.

Of the 5 largest and most well known AR15 manufacturers in this country not one of them make the majority of their parts in house. None of them make their own lower or upper receivers, bolts, bolt carriers, or lower parts kits. None of them will release the names of their suppliers. In fact they hold these names very strictly confidential. We maintain that same confidentiality.

We spent a great deal of time and money researching AR15 type parts to determine what companies use the best parts and then even more time and a lot more money to determine who made those parts for those companies. It would be very foolish of us to just give all that time and money away by freely releasing the results of the research.

I can say with good conscience and 100% honesty that we contract with many of the same suppliers that the “5 Big Companies” do. We pick and choose among the available suppliers to order only the very best of the best parts. It cost us a lot of time, energy and money to learn who makes what parts for what company. For the most part you would not even recognize the names of the company that actually has the machine that makes most of those parts, only an industry insider would have any idea who they are.

Once we receive these parts we then hand inspect each and every one of them and then hand assemble our rifles and carbines. Noting is done on a mass produced basis.

Unlike most of the “5 Big Companies” we completely coat our barrels before the front sight base (FSB) is assembled. Most of the other assemble the FSB first. This prevents any protective coating from getting on the barrel under the FSB mounting bands which obviously leads to rust and corrosion. Our fully coated barrels do not have this problem.

After the barrel is assembled, we are the ONLY company that then completely Moly-Coats the entire assembly for the ultimate in corrosion protection and appearance.

This is just one example of the care we take in building our product that most of the mass producers do not. We also offer a LIFETIME WARRANTY, they do not.

I hope this addresses your question to your satisfaction. If you have any more questions or would like to make an order, please let us know!

RGM, Inc. (Royal Grinding Machine ?)
Greentown, PA.
SER. # USMC 5X

I bought the lower 20 plus years ago at a VFW swap meet.

Aero Precision?
They make the new 5.7 AR upper and I have seen (just ordered one) some stripped lowers from them as well.
Supposedly they are OEM manufacture for Armalite and other major brands. I see the thread lists LMT as Armalite's manufacture, but I suppose several of these companies have multiple sources of lowers.

FYI, in case any of this wants to make its way into the original post.

Im betting most AR parts are all made by a handful of companies, and just relabled accordingly
"Men trained in arms from their infancy, and animated by their love of liberty, will afford neither a cheap or easy conquest." -From the Declaration of the Continental Congress, July 1775.
