The AR-10 recoil is a bit brisk when compared to an AR-15, but nowhere near a 762x51 bolt gun.
Late mergers should be shot in the face, then set on fire and hung from an overpass. /:f

Waldo,
My AR10 in 6.5 Creed runs adjustable gas. It does make a difference, and aids in proper function of the rifle. I am going to say that is not AR15 recoil, but as TC6969 said, nowhere near bolt gun recoil. My rifle ran fine w/o adjuustable gas, but am able to fine tune it with.

To the OP, if planning on building, I would start with the upper/lower from same manufacturer and go from there. That was how I did mine, and it was a problem free build and runs great. Just passed the 800 round mark and no issues.

Also, can anyone with personal experience compare recoil on an AR-10 to an FAL?
I should be able to tell you in a few weeks when I pick up the DEF10 from my FFL.
Already have a FAL, so will take both to the range and report back. _:

You did good.

That's a little less than what I paid 2+ years ago for the Oracle. =D>

Guess I bought it at the right time. [smilie=pdt_xtremez_30.gif] Price just went up by 75 bucks: https://www.gunprodeals.com/products/ta ... 1984014257

Like AR-15's, prices on AR-10's have started to go up but not as fast (thankfully). Guess the panic buying is about to get worse, again, thanks to those unprepared. It's just like when a hurricane is headed our way... =:wvr [smilie=011.gif]
